Cargo Bike Manufacturers at China Cycle

China Cycle 2026 is the largest two-wheeler trade show in Asia — 13 halls, 180,000 square metres, more than 2,000 exhibitors, and an estimated 200,000 visitors over four days. For anyone sourcing bicycles or e-bikes from China, it is the single most efficient place on earth to see the supply chain in person.

For cargo bike buyers, though, the show requires patience. The dominant categories on the floor were road bikes, gravel, traditional city e-bikes, and — most visibly — fat-tire e-bikes in every imaginable configuration. Pure cargo bike exhibitors were a clear minority. That is not necessarily a bad signal: it tells you which Chinese manufacturers have made a real commitment to cargo as a category, versus those still treating it as an experimental SKU.

This post is the visual companion to our China Cycle 2026 cargo bike technology report, which covers the components and innovations on display elsewhere in the show. Here we focus only on the cargo bikes themselves — the longtails, front-loaders (long-johns and short-johns), cargo trikes, kid-haulers, and e-cargo platforms photographed booth by booth across the four days.

If you are a brand looking for a white-label cargo bike supplier, a dealer evaluating which Chinese makers to add to your floor, or a private-label operator benchmarking Chinese factory capability against European cargo brands, treat this gallery as a starting point for your shortlist. Every photograph below was taken on the show floor; manufacturer names appear where signage was visible, and we have flagged the platforms that struck us as production-ready versus prototype-stage.

What the gallery tells you

A few patterns are worth naming once you have scrolled through the photos:

Longtails dominate over front-loaders. Of the cargo platforms on display, longtail and midtail configurations clearly outnumbered Bakfiets-style front-loaders. This reflects what Chinese factories have invested in tooling for — longtails are essentially extended e-bike frames, which leverages existing supply chain. True front-loaders require dedicated geometry, steering linkages, and cargo box engineering that fewer Chinese makers have committed to. If you are sourcing front-loaders specifically, your shortlist will be shorter.

Mid-drive is the assumed standard for cargo, but hub motors are still common. Most cargo platforms shown were spec’d with mid-drive systems — Bafang, Ananda, and a handful of newer entrants from the innovations roundup. That said, lower-tier cargo and especially fat-tire cargo crossovers were still using rear hub motors, which keeps cost down but limits performance under heavy load.

Fat-tire cargo is a real category now. A noticeable share of “cargo-adjacent” e-bikes blurred the line between fat-tire moped-style e-bikes and small-cargo platforms — extended rear racks, optional pannier setups, throttle plus pedal-assist. For the North American market specifically, this segment is moving fast and the Chinese supply chain is responding aggressively.

Cargo trikes (delta and tadpole) had limited representation. Compared to a European cargo show like the Cargo Bike Days in Berlin or the cargo halls at Eurobike, three-wheel cargo was underrepresented at China Cycle 2026. If your business model depends on trikes (last-mile delivery, accessibility-focused cargo, small commercial fleets), expect to do more direct factory outreach beyond what the show floor reveals.

Kid-hauler integration is improving. Several longtails and a handful of front-loaders showed integrated child-seat solutions, footboards, and grab rails — features that European parents now expect as standard. This is one area where Chinese manufacturers are visibly closing the gap with established European brands.

What’s next

For B2B buyers building a sourcing shortlist out of this gallery, the practical next step is a factory visit — China Cycle’s value is identifying the candidates, not closing the deal on the floor. Most of the manufacturers shown above operate within a 2–4 hour drive of Shanghai, Hangzhou, or Tianjin, making a follow-up factory tour realistic to plan within the same trip.

If you want context on the components, motors, and innovations that are quietly redefining what cargo bikes will be capable of in 2026–2027, our companion piece covers the technical side of the show:

A note on supplier names: The cargo bikes shown above are not an exhaustive list. Many specialist cargo bike manufacturers — including some of the most established names in the category — did not exhibit at China Cycle 2026, and others may have been missed during our four days on the show floor.
